Team Structure

North Reading Youth Football is part of USA Football and all of our coaches are certified in the "Heads-Up" safety program.  Prior to any practices, all coaches will pass an intensive course that teaches proper techniques and safety awareness.  In addition, NRYF provides top of the line equipment that is tested and certified every year.  The primary focus is to create a fun environment and introduce the fundamentals of football.

The League is based on competitive A, B, and C team levels. These levels are eligible for The CAYFL Super Bowl.  In addition, the non-competitive levels include D level teams.

The season begins on the second Monday of August, and typically involves 2 weeks of "training camp" practices, which may be 3-4 times/week. During the season, practices are at the coaches’ discretion and typically are scheduled 2-3 times/week for D, and 3-4 times/week for A, B, and C teams. Depending on playoffs, the season is concluded the first or second week of November.

NRYF has many players that play multiple sports within the season and encourages non-specialization.

There are approximately 9 scheduled weekend games and usually one scrimmage in pre-season.
Home Games are played at The NRHS Turf and the away games are at a CAYFL opponent.

The games are approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes long.
